Everyone knows there is no great ice cream without great ingredients. Owner Mandy Morrison was tired of the traditional ice cream parlour's air-filled and artificially flavoured & coloured scoops. Drawing on her Food & Nutrition degree from the University of Guelph and a 10+ year career in food science and dairy product development, she rediscovered her love of food and started hand-churning all-natural ice cream in her kitchen.
In 2020, following the COVID-19 crisis and the closure of one of her sister-businesses, Mandy had to make the decision to give up her prime riverside retail location in Elora, ON or pivot in a new direction. Tenacious at heart, she opted to share her ice cream making skills with the masses and opened Scoop Ice Cream in the Fall of 2020.
